Just about anything that means something to you: hand-painted portraits of people, couples and families, pet portraits, old or damaged photos brought back to life, landscapes and places you love, plus live paintings at weddings and events. If you have an idea that isn't on the list, message me and let's talk it through.
A clear, well-lit photo gives me the most to work with, but don't worry if it isn't perfect. I've painted from old, faded and slightly blurry pictures many times. Send me what you have and I'll tell you honestly whether it will work, or help you choose a better one.
For commissions, the sooner the better so I can plan the work properly, though a week or two of notice is usually fine. For live wedding painting, reach out as soon as your date is confirmed; I only take a limited number of weddings and dates fill quickly. DM me on Instagram to start the conversation.
I keep my pricing fair and honest rather than inflating it to mark things down later. That said, for multiple pieces or a larger commission, message me and we'll work something out.

If I'm available, I'll paint your piece myself. If I'm booked, another available artist may take on the commission. So your piece may be painted by me or another artist, but every painting goes through my approval before it's finalized, so the quality is always mine.
I'm based in Kathmandu, Nepal, and I travel across the country for live wedding painting. Finished commissions are delivered locally or shipped anywhere in the world, so you don't have to be nearby to order one. The easiest place to reach me is Instagram, @gideonsagar_art.
Yes. Every canvas is painted by hand, no prints and no filters; that's the whole point. Each finished piece is signed before it reaches you.
Commissions & Sizes
Popular starting points are small (6×6 in), medium (16×20 in) and large (22×18 in), and I'm always happy to paint custom sizes too. Live wedding paintings come in their own larger sizes, listed in the live wedding painting section below.
Absolutely. If none of the standard sizes fit what you have in mind, message me with roughly what you're after and I'll help you choose the right canvas and share pricing, no pressure at all.
Most commissions are completed and delivered within 7 to 15 days of your order. I'll keep you posted with progress along the way, and if you're working to a tighter deadline, just ask and I'll tell you honestly whether it's possible.
A small advance confirms your order and covers materials, and the balance is due once the piece is complete. For the exact amount and the simplest way to pay, just message me and we'll sort it out.
Live Wedding Painting
Any event that runs for around 4 to 5 hours, weddings, receptions, engagements, naming ceremonies, anniversaries, corporate events, and more. As long as the celebration gives me enough time to work, I can paint it.
I typically paint for 4 to 5 hours, from the start of the ceremony through to the reception. I arrive early to set up and stay through the main moments of the celebration. By the end of the event the painting is complete, signed, and goes home with you the same day.
Yes, and your privacy is completely respected. There are events I've attended where the ceremony was deeply personal and the families preferred no photographs, no posts, and no public record of any kind. I understand that completely. Nothing from your event is shared without your explicit permission.

Delivery & Shipping
Live wedding paintings are finished on the day and go home with you the same evening. Commissions are completed and delivered within 7 to 15 days of your order.
Yes. I've painted weddings across 20+ places in Nepal: Kathmandu, Hetauda, Butwal, Bhairahawa, Gorkha, Pokhara, Tanahu, Sindhupalchok, Biratnagar, Jhapa, Bara, Dang, and more. I travel internationally too — my first wedding abroad was in the Philippines in 2026. Travel outside Kathmandu is billed at cost.
Yes to both. If you're flying home or continuing your honeymoon after the wedding, the painting is rolled, packed carefully in a protective tube, and ready to travel as cabin or check-in luggage. I can also ship finished commissions worldwide, carefully packed, so distance is never a reason not to order one.
Changes & Refunds
I share progress as the piece develops, so we can adjust the likeness, colours, or small details before it's finished. A little back and forth is part of the process; I want you to genuinely love the final result.
Because each piece is painted by hand just for you, the advance covers materials and reserved time and isn't refundable once I've begun. If something comes up before I start, message me and we'll find a fair solution together.
